
Some simple tips if your broadband connection goes south or dead. Then the next course of action would be to call the company's toll free helpdesk.
- Check your phone line for a dial tone.
- Check cables for a firm connection.
- Turn off the modem and restart the modem and computer to synchronize DSL service.
- Clear temporary files and "cookies" from your computer.
- Check to make sure fax machines, caller ID boxes or phones connected to a DSL phone line have a filter to prevent noise from disrupting the DSL signal.
- Check the lights on the DSL modem to ensure connection between the modem, PC and high-speed service. The power and ready lights should be steady green.
- The modem light for either an Ethernet link or USB link should be solid green to indicate a good connection or blinking to indicate signals between the modem and computer.
