OK. I still use Windows even though I'm a full time Linux Engineer. Why ? Coz I get tons of free software in Windows that do actually work 90% of the time and I'm just too lazy to install Linux software by command lines when I get home. Clicking is just easier. Now read on about how Microsoft handles security patches and software fixes, its bound to open your eyes.
For all of us Windows operating system users, it’s become a common theme. Microsoft releases an update, then someone exposes a security flaw, and Microsoft releases a software patch to fix the issue. Then, the patch may too have issues, which causes them to release a fix for the fix.
Since it seems Microsoft constantly has to come up with patches to fix flaws in their software, I thought it would be relevant to explain Microsoft’s procedure for handling an exploit from the point of identification to the resolution. Microsoft’s Security Response Center categorizes vulnerabilities into four severity ratings: Critical, Important, Moderate, and Low.
