Some companies give their staffs really nice mobile phones for business calls like the heavy Nokia 9300 and Nokia 9500 that uses the Symbian OS v7.0s. They are lucky people as I only get a NOkia 3510i when I'm over in the Netherlands for training now but at least its easy to slip into my jean's pocket instead of putting it into my jacket. Now that costs cutting measure is such a big factor to keep companies afloat nowadays, every dollar saved is welcomed. Here's some great news that will help companies save money on telco bills using Skype if their staff is using Symbian Hand Phones. For a full list of Symbian powered Mobile Phones, see here
Skype has reached an agreement with Hutchinson that enables Skype to run on 3 networks across the globe. It is most likely to run on Symbian-based phones at the moment. The S60 Skype application encompasses Skype text char, voice calls, and Skype Out dialing. So far a couple of Nokia 6680s have successfully run Skype on a 3G network, with a latency time of 1 second.
