Here's a piece on the good old days when Palm Power ruled and there were no Blackberry's around.
Jeff said, 'It has to fit in your pocket, it has to be fast, and it has to be $299,'" Haitani recalled." He was talking about the Palm Pilot 1000, the first Palm ever released. That's 10 years ago. Where did the company go from then ? For years, Palm has been the only serious organiser out there and they were a market leader. Today they're not amarket leader anymore.
RIM's Blackberry is here and has something to say on the market. Their only disadvantage is limitations in availability of (free) software. There are loads of software out there for Palms. Windows based organisers are a competitor on the market, and although Palm has always supported synchronisation of data to Windows operating systems, these organisers have the advantage of having a known interface for Windows users. Technically they're less advanced because of the heritage of the Windows operating system. Link : News.com
