The CoSoSys USB Traffic Control is a great piece of software that lets corporations track the movement of data in portable storage devices such as USB Flash Drives, digital cameras and MP3 players. Big corporations like BP, Citibank and Shell have rules that prohibit the transfer of sensitive data using portable storage devices with strong auditing features on Windows software but even that is not full proof. The CoSoSys USB Traffic Control works on Windows platform but I'm not sure if its good on non Windows platforms like Linux or Unix.
CoSoSys stands for Controller Software Systems.
CoSoSys has announced the availability of USB Traffic Control a network administration tool that gives corporations the control over what data is leaving or accessing their network through the USB Port. USB Traffic Control gives corporations the ability to let the network users use the increasingly important functionality of the USB Port without loosing control over data.
USB Traffic Control is designed to control usage of all USB storage and also to keep track of what data users are taking from and to their work computers to any kind of portable USB storage devices. USB Traffic Control also gives the network administrator the ability to monitor and report what data is introduced into the corporate network from a portable storage device such as prohibited material or harmful data like a virus that could jeopardize the networks integrity.
CoSoSys will demonstrate USB Traffic Control at CeBIT, Germany from the 9 March to 15 March 2006 in Hall 20 booth C 27.
