Google has recently bought a company called Writely. Writely is working on a wordprocessor that loads in your browser, and is supposed to be compatible with Microsoft office. Michael Robertson, who has made mp3.com big and developed Lindows (Linspire) linux, has just released Ajaxwrite, a wordprocessor in your browser. I tried it yesterday, and it worked fine. This is something I always said this world needs : good web-based software. No installations, so no trouble with dependencies on your operating system and no stupid Windows BLUE SCREEN OF DEATHS (BSOD) . In short : the same software for all. Free the world !!
