SOS Online Backup for PC Users

The recent Carbonite Online Backup Beta Program Invitation that I highlighted on this site will set you back $5 per month for unlimited capacity on its Online PC Backup service. If you are looking for an alternative, then you might like another online backup service at SOS Online Backup. They charge from $99 for 1GB of space.

As for me, I am using my Gmail as my online backup.

And they got a “Three Means Free” promotion that will run throughout 2006 – and if an SOS user refers 3 friends to SOS who become active subscribers – they’ll get their SOS account for free!

SOS Online Backup, an industry leader in online backup technology, announced today the availability of their SOS Online Backup service for consumers and SOHOs, delivering peace of mind for as little as $1 per week.

"Ever lost a file? Painful isn’t it? That puts you in the 90% of Americans who regularly lose data either at home or at work. This is needlessly lost data. The SOS Online Backup system easily allows you to backup files, folders or entire computers to the company’s network of backup servers and then access and share those files anywhere in the world by simply using your favorite Web Browser, or using the SOS Online Backup client.

"With ten times the features of a USB key, but at half the price, whether it is Hurricane Katrina, a power outage or human error that involves an accidental tap of the delete key, a reliable online backup solution will ensure you can keep your data safe and accessible", explains Ken Shaw, President and CEO of SOS Online Backup.

Consumer Plan

Size Cost
125 MB $3.30 per month, or $19.90 annually
200 MB $5 per month, or $45 annually
400 MB $9 per month, or $75 annually
1 GB $16.50 per month, or $99 annually
