Some nice news from Alarm Clock. They feature lots of Venture Capital news daily and its nice to see that companies are taking more precautions before they leap into crazy ventures and blow up the Internet again.
LogicBlaze
LogicBlaze recently launched the LogicBlaze Fuse, an open-source SOA platform last month. Its the industry's first service-oriented architecture platform provided as an open-source distribution. LogicBlaze Fuse aggregates, packages and pre-validates a set of proven technologies from the Apache Software Foundation and Apache Software Foundation Incubator, including an ESB (enterprise service bus), messaging platform, persistence database, service registry, management console and BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) orchestration engine.
Given his track record, we should pay attention to Winston Damarillo. He was a VC with Intel, before founding early open-source software startup Gluecode Software, which was bought by IBM. His latest venture Simula Labs is more of an open-source VC firm than a startup. Damarillo plans to launch a new product or company every quarter. Simula’s first portfolio company, LogicBlaze has a services-oriented architecture (SOA) platform that integrates Apache, messaging, orchestration and enterprise service bus technologies.
