Saw this great interview of Paul Guerin, CEO of Jabber over at TechRockies. I’ve not been using Jabber for quite some time now and with their upcoming future plans, I bet you’ll hear of them even more.
Some new features now in Jabber 1.1 IM Appliance:
1.1 product now supports connections into Microsoft's Active Directory product. Jabber's appliance is used by enterprises to deploy instant messaging services. The software connects with AOL's AIM instant messaging service and Google's GoogleTalk instant messaging service. Other upgrades to the software includes a upgraded archiving plug in and better reporting functionality, including keyword and user-specific text searching.
Our interview today is with Paul Guerin, CEO of Jabber. Jabber is a Denver, Colorado-based company that provides instant messaging and other platform software for the enterprise market. We spoke with Paul and Dave Uhlir, VP of Marketing, to get an idea of how the company is doing and to understand its business better.
Jabber is really a platform for building real time presence-based applications, with instant messaging being the best example of that. Say, for example, you had a customer support center. Today, how that works is you get on the telephone, send a fax, or send an email.
