The long awaited New Xandros Linux Desktop 4.0 came out June 20, 2006. It also includes the KDE 3.42 desktop interface. For programs, it includes the newest editions of the KDE application family, Firefox, Thunderbird, and the OpenOffice.org 2.0 office suite. I have not used this software before but it looks good as it includes a Windows migration tool by Versora and Paragon Software Group's NTFS for Linux that can both read and, even write to Windows's NTFS-formatted drives without installing additional packages.Founded in 2001, the company is located in New York City and Ottawa, Ontario. Their distributions are based on Corel Linux, a Debian-based distribution which was acquired from Corel Corporation that same year after Corel decided to leave the Linux distribution market.

This innovative program enables users to import their Windows settings, data, and files—including email, photos, and music—when moving from Windows to Xandros.
