KoolIM.com for IM Consolidation
kool-im.jpgConsolidating your IMs is a cool thing nowadays. You have websites like eBuddy, Meebo, e-Messenger getting into this business but is there really a way to make money from it ? Since most of this sites rely on AJAX, I guess they will included AD-supported login windows in the future to get some $$ into the pot. Here's another one of "those" single IM sites - KoolIM. It has logins to most IMs found in Meebo.com but its only in Alpha right now (it launched Monday 10 July 2006) and it lacks a chazt logging function also found in Meebo. Yes. I'm using Meebo very often now and not switching sides yet until they really support 12 IM networks and 4 Content Channels.

Thanks to Servaas from Web2weblog for the Tip !

Update :
I've tested it with my MSN and Yahoo IM login. It pops a new window open and the login process takes too long until its had an error message - "You have been signed out. Your session possibly has expired." Darn. I hate websites that are in Alpha!

Finally, we would like to announce the alpha launch of www.koolim.com. It has been a few months working on the front end client and close to four years working on the back end. The KoolIM front end was built using AJAX technologies while the BuddyStream back end platform was built using Java. We have worked extremely hard to bring this version of KoolIM to market. The back end is powered by our back end technology platform called BuddyStream. KoolIM is a generic IM solution, the initial version will support access to 12 IM networks and 4 Content Channels.

Nope, we did some research in to ads and at this time we do not believe it is in the best interest of our userbase, as you have posted the same message on every blog, i will answer them on every blog.

There is NOTHING wrong with researching to see what is the best way to run your business, whether it is through ads, paid subscriptions or even premium offerings, no idea why you are complaining about ads so hard.

also we did not complain that you have ads on your side, why do we care, we just care that you are framing sites and that users inputting thier usernames and passwords could be at risk because of your framing.

I would say that you should really wait until we come out with our next release and see what we have to offer and than you can judge for your self :)

Thank You for your feedback and support.

also note that meebo will be adding ads soon, i will bet you on that, there is nothing wrong with it, yahoo has ads, google has ads, youtube has ads, everyone has ads, come on :)

wait to see what we are launcing and than you can judge :) something to look forward to.

Samer, ads or no ads. As long as you provide a good service, users will still go back to you....good luck

I agree with colbert.
