Ed Bott's blog at ZDNet quotes a Microsoft insider who allegedly says that the latest instalment of WGA, to be released in a few months would actually disable your Windows altogether :
He told me that "in the fall, having the latest WGA will become mandatory and if its not installed, Windows will give a 30 day warning and when the 30 days is up and WGA isn't installed, Windows will stop working, so you might as well install WGA now."
It was further reported that Microsoft has not denied this. If you haven't got yourself a genuine Microsoft Windows product, maybe the time is right or you can always use Linux.
Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) software kills your pirated Windows source

I have a work around regarding WGA. If you want the couple of small paragraphs solution, send to me by email starcd53@aol.com, your FAX Number and I will FAX you the two sheets. This info was on the internet in 2001, prior to XP availability. Probably came from a beta tester for XP.
