With the prevalence of numerous phishing sites out in the internet, Yahoo has added an Anti-Phishing Sign-In Seal protection for safety of their users. Yahoo users can now customize their sign in box with
a personal seal to let them know that they are actually on Yahoo's site rather than a copycat phishing site.
Well, I've just been looking around Yahoo's site and apart from this notice that there is a new feature for anti-phishing, I can't find a way to set it. I tried to logon to my account on My Yahoo and I coudn't find any options to add in a seal until I saw Rohanpinto's review on this matter – the signup page is here - Sign In Seal @ protect.login.yahoo.com.
This is what Rohanpinto has to say some more :
I should not be saying that yahoo is the first to do this, because financial institutions like ing DIRECT, are already employing such or similar security features that help you identity phishing sites. All said and done, this is a very nice addition to yahoo, and I bet that all other webservices would follow suit soon. It would be nice to see openID also employ such mechanisms.
