Dell had a big battery recall recently and that sure poked a big hole in its finances. Now the Dell Chairman, Michael Dell has come out to say that its not their fault. He's flatly denying that its laptop designs are the cause after a Sony report said
"Reports by Sony, that the way Dell integrates the battery cells into its PC designs made its machines more susceptible to problems than devices from other PC makers, were firmly refuted by Dell."
Well, as a user, I don't give 2 hoots on who is to blame. I just don't want to see my battery explode and burn my precious Latitude....that's why I never leave my battery in when I'm using the power adapter. I just hope some government agency will get to the bottom of this to protect consumer rights.
According to Zdnet :
Dell founder and chairman Michael Dell has denied that the way his company constructs its PCs played a part in a spate of battery-related fires and instead laid the blame entirely with the manufacturer of the cells, Sony. "We know exactly why there was a problem. Sony had contaminated its cells in the manufacturing process," Dell told ZDNet UK at the company's Technology Day event in New York on Tuesday.
