AOL may be a big internet company but without customers, its just
a white elephant. Millions of its Internet access subscribers have defected recently and its business in European markets is dwindling. So to keep things afloat, Telecom Italia through a $870 million deal agreed to buy Time Warner Inc.'s AOL Internet access business in Germany, the companies said on Sunday.
According to CNN
The move will make Telecom Italia (Charts) Germany's second-largest broadband provider, with more than 3.2 million total subscribers including nearly 2 million broadband customers, the companies said in a statement.
