
According to Zdnet , Windows Vista could slow down the entire Internet with its support for 2 versions of the Internet Protocol (IP). Nonetheless, some experts are wondering if this could be a big
gridlock or just a negligible nuisance. I feel that with the proper configurations on the global DNS servers and routers by using methods traffic shaping and VLANs, this gridlock could be reduced. Maybe its time vendors came out with Vista aware internet routers just to make some bucks on this unproven hype.
According to Paul Mockapetris, the famed creator of the Internet's Domain Name System (DNS): Vista's introduction will cause a surge in DNS traffic because the operating system supports two versions of the Internet Protocol, a technology standard used to send information over computer networks.
