Zero Day Bug in Microsoft Word

A security hole in Word is being used by hackers to run unauthorized software on a victim's computer. Microsoft has confirmed the hole exists but only affects the Microsoft Word 2000 suite. They have not said if there will be any updates for it on the next upcoming Patch Day on next Tuesday.microsoft2r.jpg

According to Microsoftfuture :

This bug was first found by Symantec and its called Trojan.MDropper. When victims open the infected Word documents, Word is tricked into installing malicious software on the PC. Trojan.MDropper installs malicious software on the computer, which in turn installs another Trojan horse program "which turns out to be new variant of Backdoor.Femo," Symantec said.
