Free AOL OpenRide software for broadband users
Taking a cue from Google and Yahoo in giving away free software, AOL is doing the same with its OpenRide software for broadband users.

The AOL OpenRide software gives online users access to some AOL services;  Media Center, which includes the ability to listen to the AOL Radio with XM service and watchaol-0o9.jpg video through the AOL Video portal. The Media Center allows the users to play songs and media from a user's own computer too. By not restricting email access to its own services only,  the OpenRide software can receive other POP3 accounts, like Gmail and Yahoo! Mail Plus, in addition to AOL's own e-mail services. Looks like AOL is finally doing something right.
