Seating Charts in Web 2.0
There's a new Web 2.0 product launched in private beta right now which is called SimpleSeating.  This new products is used for chart creation and designing seatingsimpleseating4.jpg arrangements.  The main purpose of SimpleSeating is to make things easier for the users to use the web-based product with its easy guest management and drag-and-drop functionality.  Although there is a need for seating charts in school systems, conferences, concerts and other important events, I never thought of it becoming technologically enhanced.  SimpleSeating is now making its way to wedding guests planning and classroom seating arrangement a painless process.

They say the Web 2.0 SimpleSeating product is so simple that all you have to do is name the occassion and indicate the room plan.  The next task is to add the list of guests or students who should all be prearranged in clusters which will be assigned to a special table or row.  The process of doing it is actually fun in some ways for you can actually see the prearranged seating plan through a visual interface.  Its drag-and-drop functionality allows a planner to place a variety of tables and place each person to a specified seat.

SimpleSeating gave me second thoughts of whether it is really a unique product. So I decided to do some research myself.  It is exciting to know that most of the previous visual interface made was like taken from an Excel file.  SimpleSeating is indeed an appealing product, the first of its kind and the solution to parties, conferences, weddings and very web based.  The only question now is if it will get a high demand from prospective users.  But when I last checked the website (http://www.simpleseating.com/), they have closed the private beta enrolment due to overwhelming interest of users.  We just have to find out later on how they give quotes, for pricing is still a secret until now.

I know you may not believe this. But I had this Idea last year and have been developing little bits since then. I am now in the process of inserting all the clever javascript into a php framework and once I have a demo version will be launching it for some testing.
