Give your Intel Mac 5 times better Wi-fi performance

If you're an owner of a Core 2 Duo based Mac, you might want to pay a few bucks to Apple so that they will unlock the hidden next-generation 802.11n wireless technologies features that comes with your laptop. It was rumored to be around $179. And it will require another small $4.99 fee if you decided to 802.11n enablerairport-extreme-07-01-09-2.gif patch the be used with third party wireless solution.

The new AirPort Extreme Base Station can now work double the 2.4 GHz range it used to cater, and it works in both the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz wireless frequencies. And this allow it to reduce the possibility of interference from appliances and cordless phones that operate in the 2.4 GHz frequency.

I have to agree when Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing said, "The new Airport Extreme is the most powerful and easy to use Wi-Fi base station that we have ever made".
