You thought it's fun to watch great online video contents for free on Youtube? Then, you would be thrilled to know that there's a free online TV is available to us all soon.
Just in case you aren't aware, I am actually talking about a site called Joost, which is currently still in private beta stage, and it require you to apply to be their beta tester. Joost is founded by the very same person who brought Skype and Kazaa into existence.
Joost started out with the codename "The Venice Project". It comes into existence with the intention to provide studios, cable stations and anyone else who wants to distribute high-quality video over the Internet, a fast, efficient and cheap distribution method. And this can done by utilizing their peer-to-peer streaming technology.
In their press release, Joost founders also guarantees copyright protection for content owners and creators with its secure and "piracy-proof" Internet platform.
With its wide range of TV programs selection, Joost is going to be a hit. And what I found most interesting was actually the remark left by Joost chief technology officer Dirk-Willem van Gulik, who said, "We are not only giving the world a TV, we are giving them a TV they can play around with; you can add things to, you can modify".
