
Cisco and Apple today announced that they have resolved their dispute involving the “iPhone” trademark. Under the agreement, both companies are free to use
the “iPhone” trademark on their products throughout the world. Both companies
side will dismiss any pending actions regarding the trademark. In addition, Cisco and Apple will explore opportunities for interoperability in the areas of security, and consumer and enterprise communications. Other terms of the agreement are confidential. iPhone technology will benefit from this agreement with further advancement in this technology. Two companies working and sharing technology, experience and expertise will make iPhone a much better service than what it currently is. How will the new iPhone be like is to be seen. Whether or not there is more benefit, depends on how the two companies will complement each other.
