Cisco has moved to acquire the market leader in on-demand collaboration application and network base solution provider WebEx. An agreement has been made for Cisco to tender an offer to purchase all of the outstanding shares at $57 per share. Cisco
acquisition will further strengthen its place in networking market. Cisco will be banking on WebEx experience and expertise in its own field to cover up what Cisco is weak at to offer a better service to its customers. This acquisition will make WebEx a part of Cisco Development Organization while maintaining its unique business model. The technologies offered by WebEx will greatly supplement what Cisco has to offer. No doubt this will be a good acquisition that will benefit Cisco greatly. It might not be surprising if Cisco in the near future launches greater products, solutions and services in addition to what they are doing now. The final amount of the acquisition is not immediately known.
