Fake Web Pages tracked by Microsoft

The web is littered with quite a number of junks from all over the world. Fake websites, phishing sites, almost anything you can think of. Researchers at Microsoft say they have traced the companies and techniques behind all these. There are thousands of fake sites created to trick search engine to display them as legit sites where users often find advertisements and more junks. For a long time, mail providers and legit companies has work hard to find ways to stop spams and junks from their mail. If what Microsoft researchers said are true, it might be a very good start in the war which might just tilt it. Much more need to be done to eradicate this fake sites, spams and junks. A report for the research has been put up as a reference for those who are interested and can be found at www.cs.ucdavis.edu/~hchen/paper/www07.pdf
