Home Theatre PC is gaining popularity among home users. HTPC has come a long way making full use of Windows Media Center Edition. Wherever Windows is, it seems like Linux will be there. There are operating system for Windows for PC and PDA and there are also Linux versions of it. Now Linux is coming to challenge Windows Media Center Edition with its own offering Linux MCE. MythTV used to be the Linux base challenger for Windows Media Center Edition but it is not much different other than Linux is free. Linux MCE will be using technology of MythTV in its leading distribution Ubuntu. HTPC user like all other PC users now will have an option to choose from. Linux or Windows. There is not too much information available at the moment about Linux MCE but it is expected that more and more will be revealed as user adopt to these changes.
