The coming report from Edison Media Research shows that audience for podcast has grown 18% from last year. Podcast awareness has also grown from 22% i8n 2006 to 37% in 2007. Podcast is a media file distributed over the internet for playback on portable media players and computers. It is gaining popularity and it is good news. The survey conducted has revealed some very interesting details about podcast as well. The proposition of users are almost half female and half male. More listeners are age over 55 and are more likely to earn over 100K. I do not know what is the real purpose of this survey but it is anyone’s guess. It might be to check on its market and its growth and they will be planning a new marketing strategy to better improve themselves. Podcast has come a long way and they deserve what they have today.
