Web 2.0 is getting more and more attention from publics. Recently Forrester Reasearch just release two reports regarding Web 2.0 in the enterprise. They surveyed 119 CIOs on the topic to get a general answers on what they expect from Web 2.0. The report clearly indicates that CIOs prefer Suites for Web 2.0. They would prefer to purchase web 2.0 technology from large vendors rather than setting it up themselves. This may be due to lack of expertise among CIOs and they do not want to trouble themselves with what they regard as an unstable technology. A better solution will be for another organization or vendor to offer them a suite follow by maintenance all in one package. This might be a worrying trend as there are not much third party offering for Web 2.0 which might lead to delay in the switch with CIO almost all reluctant to start it on their own.
