YouTube launches a late “YouTube Video Awards” to honour the best video in 2006. There are 7 categories being contested-Most Inspirational, Most Creative, Best Series, Best Comedy, Musician of the year, Best Commentary and Most Adorable Video Ever. Nominees will be listed and voting is to take place from Monday till Friday. Winners will be announced on March 25th. This is the latest buzz from YouTube to gain more traffic. YouTube has been bewildered by a number of copyright content issues. This might gain some pride and interest back to YouTube. This might become an annual event taking place in a real world ceremony if it becomes a big hit. It might be a way YouTube is trying to diverse its market by promoting this event. It might be a little late to honour 2006 videos now but as saying goes it is better late than never. Hopefully it will be a success.
