Zimbra - Offline Access to Web Applications

 

Zimbra has been one of the earliest Web 2.0 suites developer. Now they are announcing offline support for its suite. There will be a client available for download which will enables user to download and use their application offline. Desktop Zimbra alpha will be available for download in Windows, Mac and Linux format. Zimbra alpha download  is free for open source and for Zimbra Network Edition users to try out. Zoho and Firefox 3 is also doing the same thing. ThinkFree and Joyent are also rising fast to challenge the market. Microsoft and other software developers will have to start a new project of something similar to keep up with the pace or face losing out in the lucrative competition. Web application has gain popularity because there is no need for download and installation. Even if there is any it is minimal. You can access documents on any computers anywhere you go as long as there is connection to the internet.
