
Many companies have invested a great deal in hardware to centralize storage for applications, consolidate file servers and support disk-based backups, but HP (NYSE: HP) now offers a single product to fulfill all three roles.![]()
The HP StorageWorks All-In-One Storage System provides shared storage for application servers through iSCSI SAN, enhanced file serving for end-user clients via NAS, and comprehensive data protection features. These storage systems are available in either Serial ATA (SATA) models which supports transfer rates of up to 1.5 Gbps or Serial-attached SCSI (SAS) which support transfer rates up to 3 Gbps.
HP's storage line now includes the following models of All-In-One storage units:- StorageWorks 400 All-in-One Storage System (AiO400). An entry-level rackable solution, the AiO400 supports up to 4 x 250GB SATA Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) and is an excellent solution for customers needing less than 1TB total raw capacity.
- StorageWorks 600 All-in-One Storage System (AiO600). The AiO600 is intended for customers requiring greater capacity, scalability and hardware redundancy. The SATA model can support 6 x 250GB HDDs (1.5TB) or 6 x 500GB HDDs (3.0TB). The SAS model can support 6 x 146GB HDDs (876GB) or 6 x 300GB HDDs (1.8TB).
- StorageWorks 1200 All-in-One Storage System (AiO1200). The AiO1200 is a high capacity solution for customers looking for increased performance and capacity from 12 internal drives and a high performance RAID controller. The SATA model can support 12 x 250GB HDDs (3TB), 12 x 500GB HDDs (6TB) or 12 x 750GB HDDs (9TB). The SAS model can support 12 x 146GB HDDs (1.7TB) or 12 x 300GB HDDs (3.6TB).
