I posted about the acquisition of 3Com by Bain Capital Partners and Huawei ![]()
"The shareholders contend the $2.2bn buyout price is "insufficient," that directors "breached their fiduciary duties" by agreeing to the figure, and Bain Capital and Huawei aided and abetted the alleged breaches."
3Com promised to vigorously defend these suits, so this acquisition may be a bit drawn out. Concern has also been voiced about the possible security implications of the buyout being partially funded by a Chinese company:
"Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R, MI, circa 1862), chair of the Republican Policy Committee, said the deal represents a "stealth assault on America's national security"."
