Well, if you haven't patched/changed your systems to adjust for the 2007 daylight savings times change (see below) then you'll probably an hour ahead on Sunday.![]()
- DST begins at 2:00 a.m. (local time) on March 11, 2007 and clocks must be turned ahead one hour. "Spring" forward.
- DST ends at 2:00 a.m. (local time) on November 4, 2007 and clocks must be turned back one hour. "Fall" backward.
I'll have to double-check our Windows-based servers, desktops/laptops and handhelds (Pocket PCs & SmartPhones) on Monday to make sure everything is still copasetic. I'll verify with our UNIX guys that they're still good as well. I actually had to go back and patch some new server builds (I'll have to make sure this is part of the server image going forward).
In case you've ever wondered how time synchronization works in a Windows environment, Microsoft has a good article in TechNet here. A quick way to check the system clock of a remote Windows system without having to logon to that system is to use the "Net" command with following syntax:net time \\computername
I hope everything went well with the time change for you. If not, make sure you review documentation from your vendor as to how to adjust for DST.
