Important Apps for Windows

Techtree has a piece on my favourite anti-virus – AVG anti-virus. They also go on to talk about some useful basic open source programs like Ad-aware Personal Edition , Mozilla Thunderbird that don't burn a hole in your pocket. It's great to know that not everything for Windowsavg-antivirus.jpg comes with a hefty price.

AVG Anti-Virus - The AVG 7.1 Free Edition. This is one of the first in the anti-virus category that was and still is available for free (not the pro version). The developers, Grisoft, release virus definition updates on a regular basis. The recent versions of the program have seen some major optimization with respect to system resource usage.
